Kristianne Drake
The most understated and important elements in the work are the pegs themselves on the washing line, which continue to be a constant holding it together both literally and metaphysically. My relationship with the pegs is not rational. It is not about colour, size, shape or any obvious connection - what is certain is the physical sickness and mental stress that occurs if I try to hang the clothes and disobey the 'rules' of the pegs. The repetitious nature of the work is central to the process as it mirrors the compulsive repetitious nature of my relationship with the peg.
