Source is interested in seeing new previously unpublished projects for publication and has an open and ongoing submissions policy. We publish a variety of work but we would encourage you to see what kind of material we publish by looking at the material available on our web site.
To give us focus, Source only publishes work made in the UK or Ireland - or by photographers from the UK or Ireland - on its portfolio pages. International work is covered through our book and exhibition reviews.
To submit work, email a pdf with up to 8 images and contained within it up to three paragraphs of text that give a background to your new work along with your name, CV, contact phone number and web address. Files must be no more than 15 Meg. Emails should be sent to: email@example.com with Submission in the subject line. Alternatively, if the project is available on your web site you may send us a link to it.
If you don't have email access post up to 6 prints with the information above. Unfortunately we can't return material unless you enclose return post and print box.
Unfortunately as a small staffed arts organisation it normally takes up to two months for us to process submissions.
Exhibition and Book Reviews:
If you have a forthcoming exhibition in the UK or Ireland or a book that you would like us to consider for review please email an initial press release to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Meetings with Photographers to see new work
As part of research for future issues we will be organising meetings with photographers to find out about their new photographic work. The meetings are an opportunity to directly introduce a new piece of work to one of the editors. This is one way Source finds new work for publication in the 'portfolio pages' section of Source Magazine. Details of forthcoming research trips are listed below.
You can read a full account of what happens during meetings with photographers here...
What are we looking for?
Source publishes a wide range of material - samples of previously published work can be viewed in the online archive. We are looking for new, previously unpublished bodies of photographic work (unpublished can include artist's books in editions of less than 200 or a few images published elsewhere).
If you are interested in attending you should email a pdf with up to 8 images and contained within it up to three paragraphs of text that give a background to your new work along with your name, contact phone number and web address. Files must be no more than 20 Meg.
