'Blow-in'
‘Blow-in' reflects upon (not-)belonging, and the interplay between a sense of identity and the connection to place. This is an ongoing series considering the circumstances of blow-ins, in nature and human: they may arrive from far away distances or from nearby; their arrival accidental or planned. This new constellation can be successful marriage or disrupt the status quo, creating tension. The new locale may become permanent, and the arrival set root and flourish. On other occasions, the blow-in will blow on. The images were made while walking in places that I feel connected to, pondering the question: ’You’re not from around here, are you?’. The work was submitted in book format, the images presented here aim to give an impression of its content.
