A Land of Two Dreams
A Land of Two Dreams is a study of those suburbs that lie at the quiet edges of urban environments. Suburbia is often written off as the least interesting part of a city, however there is something about the quiet edges of a city that are, I believe, captivating. This set of images were taken in a housing development at the periphery of Dublin. I felt compelled to photograph in this space. What struck me was the duality of this location, bordering between rural and urban living. The project pays homage to the New Topographic photographers of the past, who in documenting the simple, mundane corners of urban landscapes, reframed suburbia as something worth looking at.
