Behind The Uniform
Behind The Uniform is an exploration of the dual lives of police officers. Their embodiment of civil and professional duty is manifested by portraits of them while wearing the uniform. These are juxtaposed with images of their individual (personal/private) lives, which are evoked by portraits made during their rest days. The project seeks to humanize law enforcement officers by hinting at the individual lives, which lay behind the badges. It delves into their passions, struggles and personal stories, and attempts to shed some light on the complexities of their roles and places within society, by capturing moments of vulnerability and resilience. Behind The Uniform aims to foster understanding and empathy, bridging the gap between police officers and the communities they serve. Viewers are invited to reflect on the multifaceted nature of policing and the shared humanity that unites us all.
