Chapter 8 Synopsis:
- At London College of Printing (where did MA) discovered theory and her identity as a photographer.
- Studied with Anna Fox, Helen Sear and Anne Williams.
- Saw a lot more photography.
- Work 'Women with Moustaches' was completed before MA.
- Work was made by advertising for subjects in Hackney Gazette who did a story about the project.
- Photographed about 20 women, 12 appeared in the final show.
- There was a collaboration with the subjects and have kept in touch with them since.
- Work was initially shown in a gallery in Manchester and there is still interest in them.
- Thinks of them as naive now.
- A hair and makeup person helped to make the subjects appear 'at their best'.
- Viewers often interpret the pictures as being of men in drag.
