Chapter 12 Synopsis:
- 'Front' is series of photographs of families on beaches in which Trish has replaced a woman in the group.
- Normal codes of behavior are suspended on the beach.
- Became careful about who to ask in the family to get permission to make picture.
- Family also received a conventional portrait and were sent copy of book.
- Was pregnant at the time of making pictures and project was trying out different families.
- Was a chameleon quality to role she played in pictures, studied the woman she would replace and changed clothes to fit in.
- One woman responded that picture was 'as if she was dead' (and had been replaced by another woman).
- Pictures are disconcerting.
- Made audio work called 'There's You' based on interviews with her mother about family holidays.
